A bold refurbishment that celebrates the industrial character of this central London apartment by enhancing its striking concrete structure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Our approach to this unique apartment refurbishment focused on highlighting the provocative industrial aesthetic of the existing building. The old apartment was stripped back to its bare shell, exposing the dramatic geometry of the concrete beams and columns that define the space.<\/p>\n

Several functional spaces were carefully \u201cinserted\u201d into the apartment, including a TV room, two bedrooms, family and guest bathrooms, a utility room, and a flexible guest bedroom. By stopping the new partitions short of the undersides of the beams, these additions appear as secondary elements\u2014purposefully distinct from the primary structure. This approach reinforces the raw beauty of the exposed concrete, ensuring it remains the star of the design.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n\n

The building\u2019s original industrial structure, with its tactile and intriguing concrete elements, provided a captivating foundation for our intervention. Rather than overshadowing these features, we sought to enhance their presence, creating a harmonious balance between old and new.<\/p>\n

The lighting, tones, and textures were meticulously selected to complement the exposed structural elements, resulting in a series of tranquil, domestic spaces that feel like a retreat amidst the energy of central London.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n\n
