Andrea was born and raised in the United States and completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Architecture as well as a Master’s Degree in Planning at the University of Nebraska. An exchange at Dublin Institute of Technology in 2007 enticed Andrea to make the leap and eventually immigrate to London at the beginning of 2013. Since this time Andrea has been a part of the Resident team, working closely with clients to deliver projects that enhance family life and the customer experience. She completed her qualifications at Oxford Brookes University in 2016 and is currently managing a number of residential and commercial projects.
Andrew is a Senior Resident Associate and a former Director of Forge Architects. Andrew joined Forge in July 2000 and has accrued over 20 years of experience in the industry with a particular focus on delivery and construction stages (RIBA 4-6). Andrew’s interest in Architecture developed at a young age, originating from his structural engineer father, who regularly took him on on-site visits. This encouraged his architectural studies at Kingston and Westminster Universities, completing his undergraduate degree and diploma. Andrew is the Resident’s in-house oracle on all things technical.
Andrew has worked in the residential sector for the last 22 years, having completed several Social Housing, Refurbishment, and Private Housing projects. Whether the client is a Housing Association, Main Contractor, or Private Developer, he prides himself on delivering clear and practical solutions that can be delivered on a budget to meet the end user’s needs. From layouts to bespoke detailing solutions, Andrew is well versed in providing all aspects of construction, having formed several relationships with key contacts in the industry over the years.
Andy is an Architectural Assistant in Resident. He joined the team in 2018, shortly after graduating from the University of Bath with a Master’s degree in Architecture. Having been born and raised in Borneo, nature has always been his biggest inspiration for achieving equilibrium in architecture and design. He believes that only through a seamless symbiosis of architecture and nature can the world be a better place to live, and he enjoys working closely with clients and peers to try and achieve just that.
At Resident, Andy is assisting with several projects, including a landscape-led Passivhaus development in Kent, a community-focused housing development on a former dairy farm bordering the South Downs National Park and a few Grade II* listed residential and hospitality projects across London. Andy also does supper clubs in his spare time and has voluntarily cooked several inspiring meals for the team that was delicious and demonstrated his creativity and flair with all things’ making’.
Anthony has over twenty-five years of professional practice over which time he has gained extensive experience at several award-winning practices. During these years he worked largely in the residential sector on a broad range of projects in the UK and internationally, including large multi-unit housing developments, private residential refurbishments and one-off luxury houses for individual clients.
As Senior Associate at Resident, Anthony is responsible for leading the design and delivery of our projects with a direct hands-on involvement at all stages from creative conception through to completion, ensuring close collaboration with clients, consultants and the wider project team throughout the process.
Since joining the practice in 2014 Anthony’s design focused creative contribution has been an instrumental part of many key projects in the practice, including our innovative award winning Passivhaus scheme for 14 houses in Kent, numerous large-scale housing schemes, as well as several high-end private residential refurbishments including works to listed buildings.
Babs began her career in high-end residential architecture, following studies in spatial and interior design at Buckinghamshire University. The appeal of the technical aspects of architecture and challenges led her to join the company in 2007, where she quickly became a vital member of the planning team specialising in large-scale sites. With 15 years of experience, Babs has enjoyed working on all aspects of architecture from conception to completion. Babs is currently focused on the challenges of construction projects and finds satisfaction in working on technical detailing.
Babs loves being creative in her spare time and has a keen interest in pottery and painting. A busy mum of three, she enjoys being inventive in the kitchen to maintain healthy family eating.
Bianca is one of our two Directors overseeing the design and delivery of all our projects at Resident. As an RIBA Chartered Architect and ARB accredited for almost 20 years, Bianca’s extensive experience includes new-build developer-led multi-unit schemes, high-end residential refurbishments, and mixed-use developments.
A responsive and proactive approach and keen understanding of market-sensitive development and buildability underpins Bianca’s leadership within Resident resulting in the practice’s proven track record of adding real value through high-quality, cost-effective and sustainable design and forging long-standing relationships with our clients and industry colleagues.
Cathy is our Practice Manager and has worked at Resident since 2006. After studying Business at Westminster University, she worked as a manager in the legal world for 15 years before moving into the design industry. Cathy is also a Chartered MCIPD (HR). Her role is to manage the business’s finances and HR and ensure all processes and practices run smoothly – as well as ensuring the company is a great place to work.
In her spare time, Cathy loves music and dancing, as well as spending time with friends and family with good food and wine. She is a keen outdoor exercise enthusiast and can often be found doing burpees in the park, even in the snow!
As Founding Director of Resident, Chris has 30 years of experience across numerous sectors in the UK and internationally. Born and bred in London and justifiably proud to be so. Following an “old school” apprenticeship as a draughtsman, Chris studied Architecture and Engineering at the University of Westminster.
Over the years, Chris has worked on a diverse portfolio of residential, healthcare, retail and workplace projects. As a Director, Chris has had input into most projects, but the thing that he will point to as his most significant achievement at the company is its transformation in 2019 into an Employee Owned Trust.
Chris’ hands-on approach to design, procurement, and problem-solving mitigate potential risks to programme and budget. His professional, personable and strategic manner make Chris an asset to any project team.
Daniel is a registered Architect and our Sustainability Champion. He has been with the practice since 2016, holistically promoting sustainable design and conduct. Since graduating with a Master’s degree from the University of Sheffield, he has worked on local and international residential and commercial projects. With a keen interest in low-impact design, he is challenging the boundaries of traditional construction to progress architecture for the future.
Regardless of scale, whether he is working on a semi-detached infill scheme in Central London or designing a 20+ unit housing development in Southwest England, he considers the design process’s detail and practical side. Daniel enjoys working with challenging sites, looking to take advantage of any sustainable opportunities the area has to offer and then approach each project holistically.
Helen works as our Finance Administrator and looks after the day-to-day financial administration for the company. She has been working at InsideOut since 2018.
Helen previously worked in the financial sector, first with NatWest and then spent 17 years working as a Compliance Analyst for the private equity firm 3i in the legal and compliance area.
Jack started at InsideOut in 2016. Passionate about the combination of design and utility, Jack has always enjoyed the design process, from the initial feasibility to the final few hectic minutes before the project handover.
Working predominantly in the private residential sector, Jack enjoys working closely with private clients to deliver their dream homes and forever homes and adaptable spaces with the future in mind. Jack also works closely with clients on turn key projects, providing interior and architectural design but ensuring the salt shaker is stocked up.
James is an Associate at Resident. He studied and trained in London, qualifying as an architect in 2014. Since joining InsideOut, he has delivered many residential and commercial projects, including airport lounges, historic building refurbishments and housing developments. His eye for detail and wide-ranging experience makes him an all-rounder, well placed for most project needs. The key threads that run through James’s projects are a particular sensitivity to brief, the end-user, the broader impact of design, and the practical ability to get projects delivered on time and on budget.
His largest project to date is our 72-unit housing development at Coombe Farm, which he master planned and has taken from concept through to construction. However, he also enjoys taking on smaller, complex projects such as our refurbishment of a Grade II listed Georgian Townhouse at Albert Street and the exchange of floorspace within a converted warehouse at Warner House. He has also worked closely with domestic clients to design and deliver tailored home interiors.
Josh recently joined Resident as an architectural assistant and is passionate about community-led design. He believes that successful architecture can only be achieved with community engagement. Since completing his undergraduate degree from Coventry University, Josh moved to London and has worked on many projects within the UK and Europe. Whilst also working at Resident, Josh is working on his Part II qualification by studying full-time at the London School of Architecture.
Throughout his time in practice, Josh has worked on a variety of residential projects. He has worked on many different one-off housing designs. From working on listed buildings to working on schemes of multiple flats and even on ski chalets, Josh enjoys the challenges of these types of brief presentations.
During his architectural career, Josh has helped to design multiple masterplans. He enjoys trying to create spaces that lead to better community engagement and the activation of space.
James has over 25 years of experience working in architecture and was fully qualified as an architect in 2001. His previous position was Managing Director of Forge Architects until the merger with InsideOut, and he has enjoyed a return to a more focused architectural role.
James’ critical skill set is that of strategic overview, space planning and planning delivery; however, he has successfully led many large-scale residential and mixed-use developments from inception through to completion for a broad range of clients. More recently, with Forge, InsideOut and now Resident, he has enjoyed overseeing several high-budget commercial and hospitality schemes.
James has worked extensively with private and affordable housing providers. With over 25 years of experience delivering quality homes, James has extensive knowledge of efficient, elegant planning and fulfilling the necessary statutory requirements.
Lily is our administrative assistant and part of the marketing, financial and IT teams. She enjoys making the office a comfortable and fun workspace for our architects.
After completing her Bachelor’s studies in Interior Architecture in Athens, Marianna moved to London in 2012 to complete her Master’s degree in Interior Design at the University of Westminster. Marianna gained experience on a variety of residential, commercial and hospitality projects before joining InsideOut in 2018.
At Resident, Marianna’s primary focus is on commercial projects and more specifically in the Aviation sector with several completed airport lounges encompassing both design and full brand identity. One of the main projects was redesigning the identity of No1 Airport lounges in the UK.
Lately, her focus is on residential projects, working across various design stages as well as the FF&E design with attention to detailing and finishes. Currently she is working on a family house refurbishment in North London.
Marianna brings an interior design focus to the practice with a particular interest in wellbeing. In 2021 she qualified as a WELL Accredited Professional to broaden her knowledge to encompass design for optimal health and wellbeing in the built environment.
Peter founded Studio Dagger in 2020. He has a background in Design, Art and Architecture and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice from Westminster University. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of East London and a BA Hons from Kingston School of Architecture.
Peter became a fully qualified architect in 2014 and has built an established portfolio across a range of public and private projects whilst working for notable London-based practices. His projects have included:
Whilst studying to qualify as an architect, Peter worked on projects including new build university lecture theatres and research laboratories, as well as various scale residential, listed building and commercial projects.
Peter is a member of a local green-space protection and improvement group and is helping to determine new re-wilding areas in his home Borough of Greenwich.
Philip is a registered Architect with 15 years’ experience designing and delivering a wide range of commercial, hospitality, residential and aviation projects of varying scales in both the UK and Asia. He has been with the practice since 2017 and has a focus on our people and studio culture. His architectural interests focus on interpreting and crafting space, refining details and to enhance the well-being of the end user.
Philip has worked on varying scales of residential projects from a Grade II* listed building refurbishments through to a mixed-use residential developments at One Blackfriars and Battersea Power Station Phase 1 with SimpsonHaugh. He is currently supporting the team in delivering 72 homes for our community focused residential development that borders the South Downs National Park in Saltdean. Philip’s interests focus on interpreting and crafting space for residents to enjoy for the long term. Having led the design of our Home of 2030 RIBA competition, he is keen to see our sustainability strategies implemented within our future residential projects.
Rohit is an Architectural designer that joined the practice in early 2022. Since being with Resident, Rohit has worked on projects ranging from large-scale masterplans of over 100 dwellings to smaller private residential conversions.
Rohit studied architecture at the University of the Arts London and since has been tutoring at Central Saint Martins. His personal interest involves the intersection between Architecture and food, using speculation, making and workshops as tools to construct narratives.
Tim founded Forge in 1993 with the emphasis on creating a design-led, agile practice with the capacity to look at every project from a perspective of asset maximisation. Pragmatism was always one of Forge’s watchwords and we are taking this and our other skills into our merger with InsideOut. Tim will be Chairperson of the new company and continue to introduce new clients and steer the company in the creation of high quality design and sustainable Environments.
Tom is an experienced RIBA Part II Designer with a background of over 7 years in sectors ranging from residential and commercial to ecclesiastic. Tom has been with the practice since 2017, working on multi-unit residential developments and high-end commercial fit-outs. Since graduating from his Part II Diploma at the RIBA studio Office-based course in March 2021, Tom has been heading up several residential projects focusing on detail and finding robust, user-focused solutions. Tom’s keen interest in the construction process and historic buildings inform his passion for both preservation and contemporary design.
Whether the project is a 30+ unit scheme in central London or a renovation to a listed building, Tom is diligent in considering a balance between the needs of the end user of the space as well as the client. His detail-driven problem-solving has been informed by many years of experience in construction stages, liaising with contractors and suppliers to achieve results in projects that efficiently utilise their sites.
