Following the successful delivery of the Clubrooms lounge at Birmingham Airport in late 2018, we developed a new Clubroom at Luton Airport which was completed in 2019. Located next to the main departure area, this lounge offers a calm atmosphere away from the institutional feeling of the airport environment.
Divided into three distinct spaces, a large room and two smaller ones, Clubrooms offer a sophisticated and tranquil atmosphere which is perfect for individuals or groups. A palette of deep blue and soft grey combined with fumed oak invokes a relaxed and homely atmosphere.
The premium customer experience begins in the reception where the wide entrance hall with the luxurious joinery pieces leads to the main space with gold leaf lighting connecting the two spaces. The main space consists of thoughtfully arranged seating, soft-lit glass pendant lights and a large central table ideal for larger groups. A central reeded glazed screen divides these the room offering a subtle level of privacy. This central space also contains an elegant dining area enclosed in deep blue panelling offering a premium dining experience and great views of the lounge, crittal glazed bar and overlooking the departures pier. Tactile wall finishes and sumptuous seating in the smaller rooms at the front offer an exclusive and calm atmosphere with a contrasting view of the airport corridor.
The overall design is a continuation of the refreshed Clubrooms look with attention to detail celebrating the values of the brand. This includes carefully considered details such as luxurious and contrasting materials of warm chevron flooring, rich blue panelled walls and fluted glazed room dividers.
The redevelopment of Luton Airport provided the perfect conditions to expand and elevate the offering of the airport with this exclusive lounge. Clubrooms is now positioned as a brand to lead the charge into this new era at Luton Airport.
Clubrooms incorporates the existing and refreshed brand feel that we developed working closely with our client. The quality of private space and luxurious finishes were important elements to the creation of this elegant design.
Main challenges in airport lounge projects often relate to budgeting and programming constraints as well as meeting each airport’s regulations. We had to work creatively to form private zones whilst maintaining a sense of calm in a busy airport environment. This leads us to create bespoke solutions offering a great customer-centric lounge experience.
