Clubrooms – Heathrow Terminal 3

The new Clubrooms Lounge in London Heathrow Terminal 3 exemplifies Resident’s approach to considered, high-impact design within complex operational environments.

Working in collaboration with No1 Lounges, we transformed 4,200 square feet of raw airport interior into a refined space that combines elegance, intimacy, and operational efficiency.

At the heart of the lounge is the Orangery, a bright, double-height dining space arranged around a mature olive tree — a sculptural focal point that anchors the lounge in calm and nature. Framed by large-format glazing and softened with warm natural finishes, the Orangery blurs the line between indoor serenity and the ever-changing theatre of the runway beyond.

The design establishes a deliberate rhythm of open and intimate zones, from the social vibrancy of the Orangery to quieter nooks for focused work or private relaxation. A palette of tactile, timeless materials — deep-toned panelling, soft leathers, stone surfaces, and timber detailing — ensures a cohesive sense of quiet luxury. Every material was chosen to reflect the Clubrooms brand promise: elevated, tailored, and personal.

“Clubrooms represents the pinnacle of third-party lounges,” said No1 Lounges Managing Director Rami El-Dahshan. “It’s not just about creating a space to wait before a flight; it’s about creating an experience that reflects our commitment to offering something truly special for every traveller.”

Attention to light was central to the experience. Natural light filters through layers of screening and softened glazing, while bespoke lighting adds intimacy to evening transitions — key in a terminal that never sleeps. Behind the scenes, the layout is carefully choreographed to support premium à-la-carte dining and seamless service delivery, without intruding on the guest experience.
