Atelier Lewes is a thoughtfully designed mixed-use development in the heart of East Sussex, blending contemporary residential units with flexible workspaces for the creative industries.
As this award-winning scheme moved into its final delivery stages, Resident was appointed by Gold Property Construction Ltd as on-site consulting architects to support construction, handover, and early in-use phases.
Brought in at a pivotal point, Resident provided architectural technician services during RIBA Stages 5–7. Operating on a flexible, time-charge basis, we worked closely with the contractor and wider team to ensure seamless progress on-site while keeping the project agile and cost-conscious.
Our embedded, hands-on approach allowed for responsive decision-making during a critical period of delivery. By focusing on practical coordination and detail resolution, we helped ensure that Atelier Lewes transitioned smoothly from construction to completion—ready to welcome both residents and businesses into its vibrant new spaces.
Key responsibilities included:
- Supplying technical information to support live construction activities
- Responding to contractor RFIs and coordinating with design consultants
- Liaising with building control and supporting updates to the Health & Safety File
- Managing as-built documentation from sub-contractors and consultants
- Supporting the client through final handover and post-occupancy review
