This MyLounge project brought the brand’s signature relaxed and social atmosphere to an international audience.
While following the design principles of the MyLounge brand, the project was tailored to suit the preferences of the Australian market, creating a space that feels welcoming, homely, and effortlessly stylish.
The lounge offers a variety of amenities to cater to guests’ needs, including a ‘make your own’ cocktail bar, self-service bistro, comfortable seating areas, and a games room.
Bespoke joinery was key to dividing the space effectively, using reclaimed timber, terrazzo tops, and exposed concrete finishes to add texture and character. Warm tones, bright accents, and living plants brought vibrancy and a modern industrial aesthetic to life, creating an inviting and dynamic environment.
Designing an airport lounge is always a unique challenge, and this international project required close collaboration with local architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure its success. Our extensive experience in the sector proved invaluable, allowing us to anticipate and navigate potential hurdles with confidence.
The site’s exposed position on three sides also required careful planning. The external elevations were designed to reflect the personality of the interior spaces, offering a visual invitation to passing travellers and encouraging them to step inside and participate in the MyLounge experience.
“After many successful years working with Chris and the team on our UK lounges, when we made the decision to go open internationally they were our first port of call. As always we have been impressed by their collaborative approach, creativity and dedication to the project.”
– John Upton, Chief Operating Officer, No.1 Lounges
